Owner, Trainer, and Instructor – Whitney Anderson
Whitney started her riding career showing Saddlebreds and Hackney ponies on the Midwest circuit when she was eight years old. Thanks to her family’s long history in the show horse world, she was introduced to Bob Griffin and Tom Thorpe where she started riding in the 10 & under Walk and Trot Equitation division.
In 1998, she was named Top Ten in the UPHA Challenge Cup Finals with her mare Meadowsweet. The following year she was Top Ten in the 11 & under Equitation. In 2000, she won the Junior Exhibitor Hackney Pony Pleasure Driving World Grand Championship with CH Super Spy under the direction of Hollow Haven Farm as well as the ASHAF World Grand Championship Junior Exhibitor Fine Harness class with CH Titleist Symbol, Ike, under the direction of Northern Tradition Farm. “Ike” and Whitney would later go on to be Reserve World Grand Champions in 13 & under Show Pleasure in 2002 and ASHAF World Grand Champions in Junior Exhibitor Show Pleasure Driving in 2004.
She has shown and trained several champions including CH Highland Cavalier, CH My Pepper Ann, WC Stonecroft Royal Reflections, The New World Man, Clairece, California Chrome, and Roselane’s Flameworthy. Her passion for show horses has allowed her the opportunity to work for Northern Tradition Farm, JL Dixon Stable, Rockridge Farm, and Tom Tornatore at River Run Farm over the last 12 years. She loves to work with both horses and riders to cultivate a healthy dynamic that allows each to reach their full potential.
Owner and Chief of Operations – Patrick Brice
Patrick is Whitney’s Husband and is an Active Duty Naval Officer. After numerous combat deployments as a helicopter pilot and fires officer in support of special operations he planned on transitioning to the reserves to be able to spend more time at home. As life throws us curves, he will be serving one more tour on active duty in the Navy. No deployments this time, as he is a department head and flight instructor out of Pensacola, FL.
He is the stable’s general manager and handyman (when he is able to make it home on leave). He spends his time fixing the barn, riding horses, playing with the dogs, and doing his best to entertain clients.
In his spare time Patrick enjoys hunting, fly fishing, and long range shooting. While at home he will finally have time to work with his Quarter Horse, Tuff, and his pack burro, Hilde, eventually taking them on some back woods hunting adventures!
Farm Manager – Norman G.
Norman has proven INVALUABLE over the last year. Utterly reliable, he takes exceptional care of all of the animals and has allowed the program to grow into what it is today. When not turning out horses, on the tractor, or driving the truck and trailer to get shavings, he can be found petting one of the many farm dogs or in a horse stall curled up with his favorite horse of the day. He maintains the farm as if it was his own, is utterly reliable, and is our perpetual employee of the month.
