Whitney Anderson is a fourth generation Saddlebred exhibitor and horsewoman. Starting with her Nana and her great-grandfather, show horses were a family affair that allowed generations of the Brown-Anderson family to compete and travel the country together. Growing up in a family passionate about American Saddlebred horses led her to follow her childhood dreams of being a professional horse trainer after years of competing at the national level.
Beyond the numerous accolades and National and World titles garnered over nearly 25 years of showing, Whitney has gained countless and invaluable lessons in life through her riding thanks to many wonderful trainers and teachers. Being a “barn rat” as a kid allowed Whitney to have focused goals, discipline, problem solving skills, confidence, and a strong connection to nature and animals. Whitney also learned valuable time management skills while she competed with her horses as well as in the pool swimming through college and playing water polo. She credits riding and competing with shaping her into the person she is today and helping her become a competitive athlete outside of the riding arena.
Whitney’s competitive athletic experience gives her a unique skill set to bring out the best in her horses and riders through thoughtful training programs, scientific nutrition guidance, and an understanding of an athlete’s mind. Not only are horses kept in great shape and sound, but Whitney likes to keep her human athletes fit and continually improving their coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility. It is not uncommon to see Whitney showing riders stretches or exercises they can do outside of the barn to help them prepare for their next ride.
